Trainee working at an ultrasonic cleaning tank during hands-on training

Three days. One company at a time. Your hands, not ours.

You learn it with your hands. That is the point.

Three days in South Carolina running the machine, mixing solution, drying a honeycomb, restringing a blind and taking apart a headrail, on our equipment, with somebody next to you who has done it ten thousand times. You practice on our blinds, so your first customer gets your best work.

Marc spent three months testing every material before his first paying job. Three days with us hands you what those months taught him.

Day one is the blinds. Day two is the business. Day three is the field.

We train one company at a time, on purpose. You are at the tank, doing it yourself, with somebody guiding you in real time.

Day one

Everything that happens between the window and the wrap.

  • Taking blinds down and getting them back up without damage
  • Identifying material before it goes near a tank
  • Running the machine, timing, and mixing solution correctly
  • Restringing, ladder work and headrail relubrication
  • Knowing which blinds to take in, and which to pass on

Day two

How the work turns into a business that pays you.

  • Setting up dry cleaners as drop-off centers for your operation
  • Working with janitorial companies as partners
  • What to charge, and how to price for the long run
  • Approaching commercial accounts and running the on-site demo
  • Laying out your shop or trailer for how you will actually work

Day three

Out of the classroom: the workshop and the field.

  • Cleaning different blind types in the workshop and on site
  • Quick-drying verticals, pleated and honeycomb shades in five minutes or less
  • Repairing mini blinds, pleated, honeycomb, verticals and woven woods
  • When and how to wrap blinds for delivery
  • Handling customer questions with confidence
Wayne Breissinger, certified trainer and Western New York operator

You are trained by somebody who still does the work.

Wayne Breissinger has been with us since 2006 and runs the Western New York operation himself. He is a certified trainer who was cleaning blinds for paying customers last week and will be again next week.

That matters more than it sounds. When you ask him what to do about a difficult customer, or what a hospital job actually looks like, he is answering from this year, not from a manual.

And Marc is around. He has been teaching this since 1992, and he still likes the part where somebody sees a blind come out of the tank for the first time.

A few things people ask before they book.

Where it happens

The Charlotte, South Carolina area, at our training facility. Fly into Charlotte and we will tell you exactly where to be and what time. Plan on three full days.

Do I need the online course first

You do not, but people who do it get more out of the three days, because they arrive with questions instead of arriving blank. The two are built to go together.

Do I need to own equipment yet

No. Plenty of people train first and decide afterward. Three days at the tank is the best way to know if this business fits you.

Can I bring somebody

Yes, and most people should. A spouse, a partner, the person who is going to be running the tank while you are out selling. Call and tell us who is coming.

Let's talk before you book. We'll help you decide if it's the right move for you.
